The term "heart disease" covers a wide range of medical conditions affecting the heart, such as coronary heart disease, heart attack, congestive heart failure, and congenital heart disease. Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S. Keys to prevention include quitting smoking, lowering cholesterol, controlling high blood pressure, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and regular exercising. Living with heart disease is not simple but with proper diet, medication and better lifestyle choices, one can manage to stop and even reverse the ravaging effects of heart disease.
