Cloudy Urine

Cloudy urine is not always a cause for concern, but if it is a regular occurence there could be an underlying reason which is of concern. Cloudy urine is also referred to as "milky urine" as it takes on a tint not that unlike you would see when pouring a slightly dilute glass of milk. There are many possible causes for cloudy urine and while some are not an issue some can be quite severe.

It is advised that if you have cloudy urine two days in a row and your urine does not correct itself to a nearly clear or yellowish hue that you should seek medical assistance.

Possible Causes Of Cloudy Urine

* Ejaculate - It is possible you may have cloudy urine as a result of unexpended ejaculate mixing into the urine stream. This is not considered serious and usually corrects itself after urinating once.

* Cystitis (Bladder Infection) - Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder and is characterized by cloudy urine and painful urination. Frequent urination is also common with this condition.

* Kidney Stones - Milky urine commonly accompanies kidney stones and will cease once the stones have been treated in almost all causes unless there are multiple underlying conditions.

* Gonorrhea - Cloudy urine is not unheard of in regards to this disease but most often this is vaginal discharge.

* Blood - Blood in the urine may cause it to be cloudy, but most often blood will tint urine red or brown.

* Urinary Tract Infection - A UTI can cause cloudy urine and will be accompanied by a painful/burning sensation when passing urine.
